Welcome to our blog.

Welcome to the Oil Creek Pipeline. I hope you will all use and explore our blog. Look out for upcomming postings. We expect to have new and exciting content on a regular basis. In the meantime, I am including a link to the PowerPoint of yesterday's Web 2.0 presentation. Hope you will find it as enjoyable & as informative as I did.

If you write a posting please be sure to label it. We have set up the blog to archive by labels as well as by dates, this way (you cataloguers will appreciate this) we can look for similar postings by "subject heading" or as it is otherwise known by label. See blogging is a natural extension of librarianship.

The labels I propose are:
General
Teens/YA
Childrens Services
Books and more
Programming
Advocacy
Continuing Education
District News
Issues in Librarianship
Pearls of Wisdom (this is reserved for me...ha ha)

Just to post the latest happenings at Reynoldsville Public Library. We will be taking part in the community open house on Sunday, November 30th, with "Cookies with Santa." Stories, crafts and ,of course, Santa will be part of the holiday kick off from 1:00 to4:00.
Also, in the month from Thanksgiving to Christmas we offer "Food For Fines." If the patron with overdues wishes they may pay with a nonperishable item for each fined item. We send the collection to our local food pantry. I got this idea off the web somewhere, so I can't take credit. It might be more cumbersome for a larger library, but for us it works out.
